Wax Flow Loop by F5 Technologie
In pipeline simu-lation, e.g. for ana-lysing waxy crude oil for deposition pre-diction and also in testing, developing and selecting flow assurance chemicals as wax inhibitors, it is of importance to reproduce the conditions in a real pipeline. With our newly developed, zero-slip and pulsation-free pump system, our Flow Loop provides full control of these factors:
- temperature
 - pressure
 - and shear rate / Reynolds number

High and low viscous samples are pumped with high accuracy. Temperature controlled pump, absolutely pulsation free and no slip.
Our newly designed, zero-slip pump system provides full flow rate at all pressure and temperatures conditions, even with very low viscous samples (down to 1 mPas). So, the lab-scale approach to deposition effects and chemical efficiency becomes absolutely reliable and reproducible. And this at real lab-scale size: The complete rig fits onto your lab desk.
Besides Wax Deposition tests, our Flow Loop provides:
- Pipeline Restart tests
NEW: Now for low viscous samples (API Gravity > 20, down to 1 mPas) - Yield Strength tests
 - Wax appearance temperature (WAT) determination
 - Rheology tests
 - Asphaltene precipitation tests
 - HP capability with live crude oil injection
 - Pressurization with synthetic natural gas (SNG)
 - Live crude oil tests up to 200 bar (2900 psi)

High Pressure Wax Flow Loop with Live Crude Oil Injection
Adjustable parameters as flow rate and shear rate, pre-heating and cooling temperature of the test pipeline are settable in wide ranges.
Test pipeline diameter and length are also adjustable: The test pipeline  is exchanged easily by loosening two Swagelok fittings.
The test pipelines provided by F5 Technologie have a guarranteed, constant inner roughness.
